Job Description
Description We are looking for a Billing Follow Up Associate to join our team in Folsom, California. This contract position requires a detail-oriented individual who will ensure accurate billing, timely follow-ups, and effective communication with patients, government agencies, and third-party payers. The role involves managing claims, resolving reimbursement issues, and supporting other office functions to maintain smooth operations.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with patients, government agencies, and third-party payers to collect, process, and record information for reimbursement purposes.
- Review, correct, and submit claims to payers while adhering to established procedures.
- Investigate unpaid accounts, initiate collection actions, and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
- Collaborate with internal departments to obtain charge information, coding updates, and other necessary details for claim appeals.
- Calculate write-offs, debit/credit adjustments, and prepare accurate account reconciliations.
- Monitor productivity and quality metrics, meeting or exceeding performance expectations.
- Provide general office support and assist with additional billing-related tasks as needed.
- Stay up-to-date on guidelines and precedents to ensure compliance in billing processes.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or relevant combination of education and experience is preferred.
- Previous experience in medical billing and collections is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with billing procedures, claim administration, and reimbursement processes.
- Strong knowledge of coding practices and adjustments in medical billing.
- Ability to calculate write-offs and manage debit/credit adjustments accurately.
- Proficiency in communicating with government agencies, third-party payers, and patients.
- Basic understanding of productivity and quality metrics in billing operations.
- Commitment to meeting vaccination requirements as per organizational policies.
